Every communication platform today is filled with self-help tips and pop-psychology
explanations about how human behaviour works. The truth is that while there are many ways
that lead to self-improvement, there is also a lot of confusion around what are the right and
wrong ways of doing things.
Perfection implies that there is no need for improvement or change. In fact, there are
endless quotes and messages that say ‘you are perfect as you are’. While that may be the
ultimate truth, we need to unpack our personal beliefs of perfection.
Perhaps for you it means being free from any faults or weaknesses. Maybe it is about
whether you are indeed perfect in your imperfections. You may even question what the right
way to self-improvement is. Perfectionism is part of our human disfunction in that we are
never satisfied with what is.
Let’s keep it simple. Your intention for any action you choose, is entirely up to your REASON
for doing so. In other words, what motivates you? Once you set an intention, the action
which follows this intention, will yield a result. The question to ask is are you satisfied with the result?
